Margaret Friedenauer
Anchorage
Margaret is a former print and public radio journalist. She started her career at the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner as the military reporter where she reported from Iraq while embedded with the 172nd Stryker Brigade of Fort Wainwright and was honored to receive the Alaska Press Club’s Public Service Award for her coverage. She also worked at Chilkat Valley News in Haines and then as the news director at KHNS public radio in Haines for five years. She now works as a planner in Anchorage, working with rural Alaska communities and Tribal organizations.
